The European Union might “act quickly and firmly” in response to what it deems “unwarranted” visa bans issued by the US against five Europeans involved in combating digital hatred and disinformation, a European Commission spokesperson has said.

European Leaders Decry US Action as ‘Coercion’

Officials from Europe such as Emmanuel Macron accused Washington of “bullying and threats”, following the travel bans were placed on figures that were central to efforts to introduce legislation governing US-based technology firms.
